Casual Glam

I love finding pieces that can be worn dressed up or down for different occasions. That’s why I was stoked to come across this little number at Marshall’s the other day! By the way, If you haven’t checked out their dress selection, you’re doing it wrong. So many on trend pieces and for great prices!

This dress immediately struck me with it’s shape and detail. I love shirt style (shift) dresses that are loose and flowing. Anything boho-esque is also a plus! The high-low style and back cut outs absolutely did it for me! I was in love!

It reminds me of something Nicole Richie or Rachel Zoe would wear, two of my most idolized style icons! It’s chic but also simple.

I wanted to keep the boho feel of the dress alive so neglected to accessorize too much, but adding some gold bling or a purse in a fun color would totally work with this all black number for a fun night out! I can’t wait to try :)

Hope you like as much as I do!

B*tch Stole My Look: Vanessa Hudgens Turban

When I saw this picture of Vanessa Hudgens shopping in London last week, I got SO excited!

I have been searching and searching for the perfect Turban Headband. Every time I came across a cute brand or style, something about it wasn’t just right: The colors too bright, the patterns too young, or it wasn’t BIG enough. I wanted a simple, yet chic, BIG Turban Headband to wear day or night. The one Vanessa’s wearing is PERFECT

Vanessa has always been one of my main style inspirations. The Turban initially drew me to this look, but i absolutely love how she styled it. Lately she’s been seen in very sophisticated and mature pieces, and here she went back to what she knows and loves. She’s retro-boho-glam all in one and I’m diggin it.

This brings me to my topic of the post: B*tch Stole My Look. I was inspired to recreate Vanessa’s look with my own style and resources.

I’m wearing a white, lace, casual shift dress. I paired it with my taupe bag to lighten up the other dark accessories, gold jewelry, and black retro sunnies. Vanessa had on a peach shimmery lip so I popped on some Maybelline Baby Lips in Peachy Kiss.

The main focus of this look for me was the turban & I wanted it to be very similar to Vanessa’s. What gives it so much edge is the leather material. So, I went and picked up some pleather fabric and wrapped it myself. I LOVE how it turned out! It’s exactly what I’ve been looking for and I will definitely be accessorizing with this new obsession of mine all summer.

**A DIY instructional post on all things Turban Headbands will be coming SOON!!**
