Real vs. Steal Evil Eye Necklace

I am pretty much obsessed with evil eyes. They’re so mysterious and cool.

I especially love the meaning; I am fascinated by the idea of wearing something at all times to ward off evil. There are many things in this world that are out of our control and for me, the little eye symbol is a reassuring feeling of safety and security.

Sooo, I’ve been on the hunt for an Evil Eye Necklace/Bracelet for EVER!

A while back I fell in love with the Jamie Wolf evil eye set while browsing ShopBob, but it was waaay too pricey at $1,200.

I loved how dainty and delicate they looked.

I found a couple knock-off styles on Etsy, but I like to see these kind of things in person before purchasing…

I thought I was out of luck until I hit up TJ Maxx with my mom yesterday for some post-dinner shopping. I came across the cutest, dainty-est, gold Evil Eye Necklace! It has some crystals in it for sparkle and the signature blue evil eye. Plus, it was only $25.99, half off from $50. Best. Find. Ever.

Now I just need to keep my eye out (no pun intended) for a matching bracelet :)

Leather is the New Black

I’ve been obsessed with (faux) leather lately.

Leather pants, purses, headbands, vests, jackets… you name it. I want it.

Especially leather skirts. I picked up an adorable leather skater skirt while shopping around Nordstrom Rack a few weeks ago and felt it was time to finally share.

I love how leather skirts instantly dress up a rather simple look. You can literally pair it with anything: Graphic tees, sweaters, blouses, or even more leather… anything goes.

I chose an all black ensemble by pairing it with my adorable H&M button up jersey-esque blouse I got on sale for $15!

The blouse has a cool cursive “B” logo on the front and I have decided that it stands for Beyonce. My boyfriend has voted it stand for “betch”. Votes/opinions welcome :)

Speaking of my boyfriend, I stole his adorable Urban Outfitters Brxton hat for this look. I just love the extra edge it gives and honestly, will use any excuse to wear it!

Be prepared to see a lot more leather skirts in different styles coming up, I’m on a major hunt for more!

September Target Must-Haves

Yesterday was a big day in the Fashionista-on-a-budget world. 3.1 Phillip Lim officially launched for Target.

Sadly, and by sadly I mean depressing-ly, my busy Sunday didn’t allow me any time to make it to a store.

First thing this morning I jumped on the Target website and of course, EVERYTHING was sold out. I didn’t want to believe it so I hustled to my nearest store, hoping to snatch up one of the amazing purses from the collection.

Same story there. UGH.

I’m dying to get my hands on a mini satchel bag. I’m obsessed with them! They’re so chic and designed by, um, PHILLIP LIM. I’m going to literally stalk my local Target til a new shipment comes in. A sales clerk told me they would possibly be getting in tonight!?!?!? Fingers crossed :)

Since I was so let down I allowed myself to shop around. I then found two Target Must-Haves.

I’ve been eyeing the new Sam & Libby for Target shoes for a while now and since I couldn’t get the Phillip Lim collection bag, I decided to treat myself to the new dope boots for fall.

And a purse.

An amaaaazing purse. Cobalt blue, cross-body amazing purse! It reminded me so much of the mini Celine cross-body which I absolutely drool over every time I see it pinned on Pinterest. I had to have it.

You can purchase the purse online for $27.99 here.

The colder months definitely limit color-wearing options. When in doubt go for cobalt blue, it’s always in season.

I’ll keep you updated on my hunt for the Phillip Lim satchel. If you can’t wait, check out eBay or Instagram for sellers!

NY Fashion Week Inspired Shorts Suit

MERCEDES BENZ FASHION WEEK is officially half way through and has taken over New York City! I have been following along anyway I can through Twitter, Blogs, Pinterest, and Instagram. I so badly want to be a part of the action, going to shows and seeing the best of the best in “street style” all around the city! … One day :)

While scanning the WWD (Women’s Wear Daily) Pinterest I came across the board for Marissa Webb RTW Spring 2014. *RTW=ready to wear**

I was immediately obsessed with this look:

marissawebb In the words of Rachel Zoe, SO MAJ.

I have always loved suit sets, but never thought I could ease them into my wardrobe and lifestyle. Something about them screams “working woman”, and that’s just not me. However, after seeing the suit in such a bright, fun print and accessorized with sassy heels, I had to try it!

I picked up a fab Shorts Suit in a similar print and style from Macy’s during their One Day Only Sale for under $50 each, such a steal!

I paired it with an old black tank I had with green trim that went nicely with the pattern of the set. I added nude wedges to keep it summery and casual and a black Alexander Mcqueen inspired skull clutch.

Blank NYC Ripped Jeans

Happy Friday!

So, It’s the end of August and Fall is near. EEEEEK!

But that means it’s time to get ahead of the game with Fall fashion!

The easiest way to transition into the Fall is to stick to summer basics while adding simple Fall trends into the mix.

My favorite trend for the upcoming season? Ripped Jeans. Uhb-sessed.

They’re comfy and casual yet EDGY, which is why I can’t seem to get enough of them. They go with practically anything (hello, they’re jeans!) and can immediately amp up a look with style and trendiness. What’s not to love?

This is how I styled my favorite Blank NYC Ripped Jeans:

I paired the jeans with a crop top, flannel, and open toed booties. The crop top and booties are summery and by adding the flannel, I am ready for any kind of weather. Perfect for daytime fun or even an early dinner out :) I prefer to wear heels with jeans to avoid looking dumpy… you know what I mean…

I love the way this outfit turned out and since Fall is my absolute favorite kind of Fashion, expect many more posts to come!
