Denim Vest

Along with almost every other girl in the world, I fell victim to the chambray trend this year. Not victim in a bad way, but victim in a I-can-and-should-pair-everything-with-my-chambray sort of way. I love them! They’re so effortless and easy.

Since it’s summer and the sun is shining here in good ‘ole Sunny California, a chambray is a bit heavy as a day time layer, which brings me to my latest obsession: The Denim Vest!

Just think of all the greatness of a chambray, minimized and fit for summer! Adding a denim vest to an otherwise casual outfit immediately adds some pizazz and allows for “heels*, yes… heels. It says “I tried” a little bit more and in the easiest way possible. My denim vest has been my go-to look all summer, I can’t get enough.

Pair it over a graphic tank or a summery sun-dress, in a light-wash or dark-wash… anything goes!

Nude Booties

Just because it’s warm out doesn’t mean all your winter shoes have to be boxed up and stored under your bed… especially your ankle booties. I LOVE ankle booties. Even in warm weather! It’s perfectly fine to wear them because they’re short and don’t look as winter-ish as taller boots. The only thing that might be a problem with wearing them in the summer time is the dark, harsh colors… this brings me to my topic of the post: Nude Booties.

Booties go with everything! Ranging from sundresses to leggings… you really can’t go wrong! Especially if they’re NUDE. With all the fun bright colors available to wear this season, nude booties tone them down and dress them up. What’s not to love?

My friend and I had been hunting for the perfect pair of nude booties ever since it was almost warm out and mildly acceptable to be wearing shorts (so, some time around April) and we happened to discover these beautiful little soles (get it?):

They’re fun, casual, feminine and on trend for summer booties, yet can definitely be worn come fall and winter! I HAD to have them!

I purchased mine for $226 ($208+$19 tax) on Nasty Gal here with FREE SHIPPING!

They are sold out in most sizes on Nordstrom, but they also carry them here.

Black & White Stripes Part 2

It’s Part 2 of my black & white stripes posts and yes, I saved my favorite for last :)

I love this Forever 21 blouse for many reasons: It’s long, thin, soft, light weight, sheer (but not see-through), dressy AND casual all in one! I have deemed it “the perfect summer blouse” and it actually is!

Here’s why:

During the warmer months, I try to wear brighter colors. It is so hard to step out of my (black) comfort zone! But with this blouse I don’t have to. It’s fun and summery without being bright and bold. Also, it is appropriate for all ages and events! Trendy, yet sophisticated and timeless at the same time. What’s not to love?

I spiced it up with nude wedges and a leopard purse… don’t be afraid to mix and match prints this summer :)

Black & White Stripes Part 1

Hi! I know I’ve been M.I.A. from my blog for some time, but I’m back and here to share my latest obsession…

Black and White Stripes.

I mentioned black and white as a trend for spring, and this one has definitely carried into summer!

I haven’t been a huge fan of stripes in recent years, but black and white changes everything. It’s fun and spices up an outfit more than solid colors do! Accessorizing with a pop of color or pairing them with a fun print guarantees a stylish, put together look! And it’s so easy!

For Part 1 of 2 posts on black and white, I am wearing these shorts from 5|48. I purchased them at my local Off Saks Fifth Avenue on sale for $64.99! You can find similar pairs at Forever 21 herehere, here, and here.

With this fun Wildfox tank, black and white shorts are a perfect summer look!

Wearing Winter Trends in Spring/Summer

You know those pieces we HAD to have for Winter that all of a sudden became irrelevant come Spring/Summer? Well, I’m going to show you how you can incorporate one very important Winter trend into the warmer months.

The Neff Beanie.

We all went out and bought it… some in neutral colors, some in bright colors, and some with just enough color to accent an outfit.

But what you didn’t know is that you can still wear that beanie now! Pairing it with a tee and leggings for a casual look or a tank and shorts during the day is okay, even if it’s hot.

Here’s how I styled my Neff beanie for warm weather:

I downplayed my clothes to emphasize my beanie accessory. Wearing a muscle tank and high waisted shorts keeps it simple, and I of course had to complete my look with high top Chuck Taylors!

Pairing a Winter trend with Spring/Summer ensembles is a great way to get extra use of items you spent so long shopping for. Think twice about putting away your favorite Winter trend… maybe you can wear it too :)

3 Must-Have Spring Sandals

It’s slowly getting warmer! It’s time to get that pedicure you’ve been needing and start showing off those toes!

I’ve picked my top 3 must-have sandal looks for this Spring/Summer. Keeping the trends in mind, I’ve made sure to incorporate animal print, neon, and a basic for every day.

1. Clark’s Artisan Indira Rue Flat Sandals- $79 at Macys

Snakeskin is so hot right now. This is a subtle and sophisticated way to pull off this trend.

2. Mudd Gladiator Sandals- ON SALE $22.97 at Kohl’s

I love neon, but too much can really be… too much. This subtle hint adds spunk to a neutral sandal.

3. Report Samanda Black Sandal- $35 on Zappos

As you can tell, these sandals have been getting a lot of use. I love them so much I may even buy another pair!

I hope this helps you brave the trends on your feet this season :)
