Nude Booties

Just because it’s warm out doesn’t mean all your winter shoes have to be boxed up and stored under your bed… especially your ankle booties. I LOVE ankle booties. Even in warm weather! It’s perfectly fine to wear them because they’re short and don’t look as winter-ish as taller boots. The only thing that might be a problem with wearing them in the summer time is the dark, harsh colors… this brings me to my topic of the post: Nude Booties.

Booties go with everything! Ranging from sundresses to leggings… you really can’t go wrong! Especially if they’re NUDE. With all the fun bright colors available to wear this season, nude booties tone them down and dress them up. What’s not to love?

My friend and I had been hunting for the perfect pair of nude booties ever since it was almost warm out and mildly acceptable to be wearing shorts (so, some time around April) and we happened to discover these beautiful little soles (get it?):

They’re fun, casual, feminine and on trend for summer booties, yet can definitely be worn come fall and winter! I HAD to have them!

I purchased mine for $226 ($208+$19 tax) on Nasty Gal here with FREE SHIPPING!

They are sold out in most sizes on Nordstrom, but they also carry them here.

Summer Must-Haves

Happy first day of June!

The Summer months are officially here! :)  Whether you plan on laying by the pool, running off to the beach, or even embarking on a tropical vacation, I’ve put together some of my favorite summer must-haves to ensure a fab time!

1. New Bikinis

My most favorite part of summer is shopping around for a new bikini to wear by the pool and at the beaches. I love bandeau style bikinis because they deliver the smallest tan-lines (a must) and are very flattering on me! I love styling a bright, fun bandeau top with a dark solid bottom. Don’t forget your shades or sun hat :)

2. Sunscreen

The most important topic! Sunscreen. Unless you’ve been living under a rock you know how damaging the sun’s UV rays can be to your skin. Always, and I mean always apply sunscreen to your face and body while in the sun this summer. When I’m going for that tan skin, I apply a lighter SPF to my body (not lower than 30) and a tanning oil over it for a sun-kissed glow. For my lips, I apply a tinted balm for a hint of color and moisture.

3. Summer Reads

I love starting new books in the summer. Laying out on a lounge chair is the perfect time to get lost in a story. My favorite book has always been The Great Gatsby (go see the movie, you’ll like it, promise!) so I decided to re-read it after all the recent hype. Also, I came across the Bling Ring while browsing Target and am excited to read about the gang of Hollywood kids who robbed celebrities. I’ll let you know how it is :)

Black & White Stripes Part 1

Hi! I know I’ve been M.I.A. from my blog for some time, but I’m back and here to share my latest obsession…

Black and White Stripes.

I mentioned black and white as a trend for spring, and this one has definitely carried into summer!

I haven’t been a huge fan of stripes in recent years, but black and white changes everything. It’s fun and spices up an outfit more than solid colors do! Accessorizing with a pop of color or pairing them with a fun print guarantees a stylish, put together look! And it’s so easy!

For Part 1 of 2 posts on black and white, I am wearing these shorts from 5|48. I purchased them at my local Off Saks Fifth Avenue on sale for $64.99! You can find similar pairs at Forever 21 herehere, here, and here.
